The Thompson technique makes use of a segmental drop table to focus on a region or “segment” of the spine. Dr. Favero applies this in a way to restore movement to a specific joint or section of the body that he has found to be dysfunctional.
Drop table adjusting will usually be done while the patient lies face down on the table so the chiropractor can gently press on the segments of the spine and pelvic area. Sections of the chiropractic table will rise 1-2 inches and then drop when they have received a specific amount of tension. The adjustments consist of applying pressure on the patient over the treatment area with enough force to cause the table to drop. This method can also be applied to the neck and joints of the arms and legs.
