Posture Matters

crooked bonsai tree, posture matters

Do you think your posture really matters? Does it make a difference the way you sit, stand, walk, work, or play? Picture an old tree that has slowly become twisted and knotted over the years. That crooked trunk started somehow, however small, and it continued until it reached that crazy looking bent shape. It experienced the two big things our bodies also face – TIME & GRAVITY.

Time and gravity are working on all of us, and things don’t tend to naturally get better or healthier if left to follow their own course of least resistance. Over time deterioration occurs, stuff breaks down. In our case, gravity pushing down on us creates compression in some places, tension and strain in others.

WHAT I SEE ALL THE TIME

The most common postural malady I treat is a forward head and shoulders that has caused back pain, neck strain, arm numbness, headaches, and more. Why would that be such a common problem nowadays? [I’ll allow you to answer this obvious question yourself]

Have you experienced these symptoms? What would you be willing to do to make them go away?

Over the next two weeks, I will address the following important and related topics:
1) Chronic imbalance, in the muscles and the spine
2) Long term solutions and treatment for posture-related conditions
