Running injury, knee pain

You have likely heard that chiropractors treat the spine, but did you know we also work on hips, knees, ankles, and feet? You may have strained your hamstrings, torn your ACL, or suffer from plantar fasciitis. We can help you!

Leg pain can be extremely debilitating. It is the bottom of what is called the “kinetic chain” and so a problem in the knees or feet can easily cause additional problems in the higher areas of the body: low back, shoulders, even the neck and head.

When we walk differently with an altered gait, such as limping from a rolled ankle or protecting a painful knee, the other joints in the body are also used differently and their function is altered. A common pattern is for an inversion sprain (rolled ankle) to cause inner knee pain which creates outer hip pain or SI joint trouble. This can lead to back pain, shoulder pain, and a tilted neck with headaches.

Do not make the mistake of thinking it is “just leg pain” and that it will resolve on its own after a few days. Because after a few days you will often start having these other issues and then it will take more treatment to get you back to wellness.

Come in for a detailed history and physical examination at Favero Chiropractic in North Ogden. Dr. Favero will explain his findings and the best course of care to get you feeling and functioning better.
